The 59th meeting of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Conformity Assessment Board (CAB) was held in Brazil recently. Participants included IEC President and Secretary General, CAB Chair and Secretary, CAB members from 15 countries, and heads of related departments from IEC Secretariat.
The meeting systematically discussed various topics, including the financial strategy of CAB, communication with National Committees, digital transformation, and new opportunities in key technological areas.
The State Administration for Market Regulation participated in the meeting, actively engaged in discussions on key topics and presented China’s viewpoints and suggestions. They specifically introduced ideas in emerging conformity assessment services in areas of digital transformation, AI and low carbon technologies — which were well received by the participants. Also, the Chinese representatives had in-depth exchanges with IEC Officers and CAB members.
