GS1 China Delegation Attends IEEE RFID 2026 in the United States

The IEEE RFID 2026 was held in Santa Fe, the United States from June 16 to 18, 2026. More than 130 experts and scholars worldwide specializing in radio frequency identification (RFID), sensing, the Internet of Things and other related fields gathered to discuss industry development. The delegation from GS1 China attended the conference on-site.

Hosted by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), this conference is one of the most influential academic and industrial events in the RFID sector. Featuring plenary sessions, technical forums, special seminars and keynote speeches, the conference conducted in-depth discussions on hot topics including the popularization of RFID technology, chipless RFID, real-time sensing networks, spectrum management, RFID applications in harsh environments and coding standards. Participants shared cutting-edge technological achievements, practical application cases and development ideas for the industry.

During the event, representatives of GS1 China gained a comprehensive understanding of the latest advances, industrial trends and standardization updates of RFID technology across the globe. They focused on learning about the integrated applications of RFID with artificial intelligence, digital twins and wide-spectrum communication, as well as innovative practices in high-end manufacturing and critical infrastructure. Extensive technical exchanges were also conducted with peers from other countries.

This participation has further enhanced China’s engagement in the international RFID technology community, and accumulated valuable experience for the revision of domestic standards, research on forward-looking technologies and the implementation of scenario-based applications.
