Recently, the 23rd International Competition Conference of the Bundeskartellamt (German Federal Cartel Office) was held in Germany. The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) was invited to attend. The event brought together more than 350 participants including heads of competition authorities, antitrust lawyers, scholars, political figures and representatives of global enterprises from some 70 countries.
The conference discussed key factors shaping antitrust enforcement in recent years, including industrial development and economic security objectives, the digital economy and artificial intelligence, merger control, and international cooperation. The SAMR delegation actively participated in the discussions on various topics at the conference and exchanged views with the Bundeskartellamt (German Federal Cartel Office) on advancing bilateral cooperation.
