In follow-up to the consensus reached by Chinese and Bruneian leaders, and to advance the China-Brunei community with a shared future, , a delegation led by Ms. Tang Jiping, Deputy Director General of the Department of Accreditation, Inspection and Testing of the State Administration for Market Regulation of China visited Brunei from 19 to 22 May at the invitation of the Brunei side. 

The delegation held in-depth consultations with the Brunei Darussalam Standards and Accreditation Centre (PSABD) under the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE) of Brunei on the draft Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Conformity Assessment between China and Brunei.Both sides exchanged views on cooperation in accreditation, certification, inspection and testing, and discussed the follow-up mechanism for implementation. The delegation also met with the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Trade and Industry of MOFE to discuss closer connectivity in quality infrastructure, including conformity assessment cooperation.

During the visit, the delegation visited the testing laboratory of the Department of Scientific Services  under the Ministry of Health of Brunei, exploring ways to enhance technical collaboration between the inspection and testing bodies of the two countries and jointly improve laboratory capacity.

The visit was practical and results-oriented, laying a solid foundation for deeper China-Brunei cooperation in the field of conformity assessment.
