On 5-6 August 2026, the first follow-up meeting under Project SCSC 103 2025A of the APEC Subcommittee on Standards and Conformance (SCSC) — the Workshop on Strengthening Energy-Efficiency and Quality Infrastructure for Household Lighting Products in the Asia-Pacific Region — took place in Indonesia.

Hosted by Indonesia’s National Standardization Agency (BSN) with project-management support from the APEC Secretariat, the event drew experts from relevant standards-implementation and regulatory authorities, as well as testing and inspection bodiesacross multiple APEC economies including China, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Peru.

Participants held technical discussions concerning energy-efficiency and quality-infrastructure development for building-use LED lighting products across the Asia-Pacific. Key exchanges covered the implementation and application of international standards, LED lumen depreciation testing and laboratory capacity building. Work recommendations were formulated on establishing a regional collaborative network of LED energy-efficiency testing laboratories, conducting photometry-equipment inter-comparisons, and submitting feedback for revisions to international standards.
