SAMR Delegation Visits New Zealand
From June 2 to 5, in order to fully implement the important consensus reached between China and New Zealand in the economic and trade field, deepen practical cooperation in the field of conformity assessment, and facilitate the connectivity of quality infrastructure, a delegation from the State Administration for Market Regulation conducted a working visit to New Zealand.
The delegation visited International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ). The two sides exchanged views on the accreditation system, conformity assessment framework, and industry developments, held consultations on the renewal of the bilateral Memorandum of Understanding between CNAS and IANZ, and engaged in in-depth discussions on matters of mutual concern, including evaluation of accreditation effectiveness, acceptance of accreditation results, and technical collaboration.
The delegation held discussions with local certification bodies, gaining insights into the operation, business status, and industry trends of overseas conformity assessment bodies. In-depth exchanges were conducted on the inspection and traceability of specialty products such as dairy products and honey. The two sides also explored specific measures to strengthen the synergy between regulatory oversight and conformity assessment, and to improve whole-chain quality control.
The delegation conducted a field visit to a dairy production enterprise in New Zealand. In-depth exchanges were held on topics such as cross-border trade, technical services, and quality system upgrades, accumulating first-hand information for improving the quality of conformity assessment services related to foreign affairs.
This visit closely focused on key areas of China-New Zealand economic and trade exchanges, and solidified the foundation for accreditation cooperation to ensure consistent product quality.
