Ms.Zhaoying YANG, a young expert from the Chinese Academy of Quality and Inspection & Testing (CAQIT), has successfully concluded a six-month secondment at the headquarters of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna, Austria. During her tenure, she fulfilled all assigned responsibilities related to international cooperation projects.

Organized under the guidance of the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), this secondment represents an important initiative by CAQIT to support the Belt and Road Initiative, strengthen global cooperation in the field of quality infrastructure, and promote high-level opening-up in the inspection and testing sector. It also reflects CAQIT’s technical capabilities and commitment to contributing to international development cooperation.

During her assignment at UNIDO, Ms.Yang actively contributed to the implementation of the project “Strengthening the capacity of China's food inspection and testing bodies to improve trust for trade along the Belt and Road”. Focused on international quality governance and trade facilitation, her work covered project implementation and coordination, laboratory capacity building, international technical exchanges and cooperation, as well as the consolidation and communication of project results. These efforts provided solid support for the effective implementation of project activities and helped deepen practical cooperation between China and international partners in the field of quality inspection and testing.

The secondment program was jointly launched by SAMR, UNIDO, and the China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges (CICETE). It isone of the practical outcomes of the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. The project aims to strengthen mutual trust in food inspection and testing services between China and Belt and Road partner countries, promote the international mutual recognition of test results, deepen connectivity in standards and rules, and provide technical support for reducing technical barriers to trade, facilitating regional trade, and advancing high-quality development. As a key technical support and implementing institution of the project, CAQIT has actively fulfilled its responsibilities and contributed its expertise to ensuring the effective delivery of project activities.

Looking ahead, CAQIT will remain committed to deepening cooperation with international organizations such as UNIDO. It will further strengthen China’s influence within the global quality, inspection and testing community, and contribute professional expertise and technical support to the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
