The 96th meeting of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Management Board (TMB) was recently convened in Madrid, Spain. The meeting agenda included key sessions such as the Joint SMB/TMB meeting, the formal TMB meeting and a workshop on external liaisons. TMB delegates from 15 countries and heads of related ISO/CS Units participated in person.
The meeting reviewed the updates of the work programme, activities of groups reporting to the TMB, the publication of new ISO/IEC Directives, and systematically discussed key topics including optimization of ISO standards development policies and rules, digital transformation, the standardization layout in key technological areas and the improvement of external liaison mechanism, with priorities identified for the next phase.
The Chinese delegation actively engaged in discussions on various topics and presented China’s views and suggestions. They specifically introduced the new TC proposal on Clusters.
