China-Russia Seminar on Metrology in Medicine and Healthcare Held in Nanjing

The 5th China-Russia Seminar on Metrology in Medicine and Healthcare was held from May 18 to 19 in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province.

The year 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. As part of the 10th China-Russia Expo, the seminar aims to advance bilateral metrology cooperation and mutual recognition, jointly strengthen the support of metrology in public health and medical care, and boost bilateral technological cooperation and trade development.

Delegates from both sides conducted in-depth exchanges on topics including bioanalytical technologies, development of reference materials, metrological support for infectious disease diagnosis, and quality control of nucleic acid drugs, and shared achievements and experience of metrology in supporting medicine and healthcare. During the event, delegates from both sides visited the National Industrial Metrology and Testing Center for Biotechnological Medicines and other relevant institutions. For future cooperation, the two sides will continue to deepen multi-dimensional and in-depth metrology cooperation, providing solid metrological support for high-quality development of medical and health services and better protection of people’s health and well-being.

The Metrology Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (GOST R) attended the seminar. More than 70 representatives from the National Institute of Metrology (NIM), the Mendeleev Institute for Metrology (VNIIM), the Jiangsu Institute of Metrology and other institutions participated in the event.
