Minister Luo Wen Visits Spain

To implement the consensus reached by the heads of state of China and Spain and enhance cooperation in market regulation between China and Spain, from May 12 to 15, Minister Luo Wen of the State Administration for Market Regulation of China led a delegation to Spain.

The delegation visited local food safety authority to discuss risk identification. They visited the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, where the two sides reviewed the implementation of the cooperation agreement, exchanged views on infant formula registration inspection and food safety regulatory policies, and signed a food safety cooperation work plan. They also discussed the cooperation on organic product certification and signed a Memorandum of Understanding in this area.

The delegation met with the Spanish National Markets and Competition Commission and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation, establishing the mechanism for competition and antitrust exchanges. They also visited the UNE, the Spanish national standardization body, to exchange information on standardization, discuss cooperation in the framework of international standardization organizations, and signed an action plan.
